I am so outraged that as I just finished my post I accidentally deleted it. The recent stories and images of prisoner abuse by a small number of American and British soldier is outrageous.
There is no justification, under any circumstance, for the humiliation and abuse heaped on these individuals. It doesn't matter that they and/or their fellow countrymen have attacked and committed atrocities on US and foreign nationals.
This will only serve to incite more violence among militant Arabs and Muslims as it reinforces their mis-perception of the decadent nature of Western society. Granted, we are not a perfect people, but neither are we the "devils" depicted by Muslim extremists.
My great concern now is that this isolated incident will only play into the hands of terrorists as they recruit more young men and women to strap bombs to their bodies and pick up weapons to punish the West.
To those who committed these acts, "How has this increased the security of your country and your fellow soldiers? How has this helped to liberate and secure the peace for the Iraqi people? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!??"
