Referring to the last post, the difference between the Coalition forces of the West and the Islamic fundamentalist is the while abuse and atrocities are possible by forces on both sides, in the west it is considered abhorrent, vile and unlawful by nearly everyone.
Among Islamic fundamentalists, it is celebrated with great joy and victory.
We are repulsed, they are energized.
We seek to bring the perpretrators to justice, they seek to make heros of them.
We are shamed, they swell with pride.
We have a code of justice that protects those who we have in custody, their culture allows them to abuse, torture, threaten and kill those whom they've captured.
Certainly there are those on both sides whose values run against the current of their society, I would much rather be where I am.
