Just touching base today. The focus today has been on changing the case and power supply to my computer. The case is doing it's job, lowering the temps inside and reducing processor temps about 10 degrees C. The power supply...failed.
Ahh, such is life. I've really been pretty lucky with this stuff. Other than mistakes I've made, i.e. putting a screwdriver through a motherboard...3 times... while trying to remove a CPU cooler, I've had no hardware problems with the work I've done over the past 5 years or so upgrading or building 5 different computers. So a defective power supply...I can live with that...soon as the manufacturer replaces it. Till then I'll keep using the old, noisy one.

I'm confused. Is Bush a conservative or a liberal. While he is strong on tax cuts, the military and conservative social issues, he has presided over some of the largest spending increases in our nation's history.
The Medicare/Medicaid prescription drug plan alone is enough to cause serious financial trouble for this country. Add to that all the other increases and additional programs, a billion here, a billion there, it starts to add up. Now Bush is supporting an additional $18 million to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This is the same agency whose budget was cut by conservatives a few years back because of the extreme left, vulgar and obnoxious "art"(??) being funded through agency grants.
OK Mr. Bush, who are you? Liberal, Conservative? If you keep up these kinds of political pandering, your base is soon to become disenchanted with you and call you "Gone".

Were there weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? That is the question many are demanding an answer to. There was no doubt during the Clinton administration and after the 1st Gulf War when the UN required dismantling Iraq's weapons programs and inspections to verify they complied. Saddam constantly played cat and mouse with the UN and they were never able to fully ascertain he had fully disarmed. The fact is, the inspection teams as well as the rest of the world believed he had not.
Suddenly with the Bush administration there was a turn about in the thought processes of world leaders (well, at least the more vocal ones) and they began to defend Saddam.
To date there have been no smoking guns found in Iraq. There have been plenty of indicators, mobile weapons labs, chemical weapons capable missiles and shells, pieces of equipment necessary to produce nuclear weapons and so on.
Still, we haven't found the actual goods. Many of the peace-nics and Bush detractors are crying "foul!" They say Saddam had none of the claimed WMD. Many are calling for investigations Their question, "what went wrong with the intelligence" and "did Bush lie?"
A better question would be, "what did Saddam do with it (WMD)? Where did he send it and to whom?" Further, why were our intelligence services gutted during the Clinton years, leaving us with very minimal Humit (Human Intelligence) on the ground at a time when we desperately needed it?
I've no doubts that sooner or later we will learn the answers to those questions, to our dismay.

Had the pleasure of meeting my wife's 1st husband's family this weekend. Its been nearly 16 years since Bob died and though they don't get to see the family much, I was impressed with the expression of love shown.
Too often when there is a loss in a family, the loss of the loved one is exacerbated by some who would decide there is no need to continue their releationship with the surviving spouse and children.
Bob's family is a wonderful example of love and acceptance even after all these years. Karen and Bob's sons had no qualms or doubts; their Grandma and Aunts and Uncles are still interested in them and their lives. Though much water has passed under the bridge, there is still a depth and freshness many families would envy.
