The latest odd ball thing politically has to do with the Kerry fundraising through musicians and an upcoming concert at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Seems that this concert to promote the all inclusive and liberal Mr. Kerry is anything but.
Due to campaign finance laws, the tickets are not available for purchase by anyone other than US citizens. The proceeds from the event, after the Universities fees and the band's take, are earmarked for the Kerry campaign. By law, only American citizens can contribute to presidential election campaigns, thus, if you are not a citizen, you can't buy a ticket.
I can see this rife for abuse either by unknowing music lovers wanting to attend, or by knowing liberals viewing this as a way to launder foreign dollars into the Democratic machine. Get a liberal to buy a block of tickets and resell them to their foreign friends. They could even do it at a premium and "donate" the profits to Kerry.
What about scalping. Though this is outlawed, that doesn't stop it. Just look at the crowds trying to get in a sold out football game. Will the illegal scalpers be required to check citizenship documents before they consummate the sale?
How is the university going to enforce this? If they require proof of citizenship at the door, how will they distinguish between those non-citizens who are using the system to illegally funnel funds to Kerry from those bearing a ticket legitimately given to them as a gift?
Are we going to see the Federal Election Commission heading to liberal UF and have them open up the books. Will they carry on an investigation of this new liberal methodology of laundering foreign dollars into political campaign? I can hear the liberals howling fowl already!
First it was John Huang, then Al Gore's California Buddhists, now liberal entertainers operating in complicity with liberal universities. What next?
