Just touching base today. The focus today has been on changing the case and power supply to my computer. The case is doing it's job, lowering the temps inside and reducing processor temps about 10 degrees C. The power supply...failed.
Ahh, such is life. I've really been pretty lucky with this stuff. Other than mistakes I've made, i.e. putting a screwdriver through a motherboard...3 times... while trying to remove a CPU cooler, I've had no hardware problems with the work I've done over the past 5 years or so upgrading or building 5 different computers. So a defective power supply...I can live with that...soon as the manufacturer replaces it. Till then I'll keep using the old, noisy one.
